No, I am not preaching a sermon but instead presenting my research to my colleagues. I am looking for someone whom I can share quiet time CO-existing enjoying each other's company in this noisy chaotic world. I am talking about hanging out together just enjoying each other's presence; sharing our inner thoughts, fears and dreams. I am attracted to muscularity and into my black brothers. I am comfortable with my sexuality. I have finally finished my second master's program, and I will be relocating to North Atlanta. Now that I have gotten my education out of the way, I am ready to meet my soul mate and settle down. I am seeking a reciprocal relationship of substance. I am spiritual but not self-righteous, and I am settle-down but not boring. Also, I do not believe that I am a cursed mistake because of my homosexual orientation. I was made in God’s image, and God don’t make junk! Instead, I believe that my sexual orientation is a gift that should be lived out with grati! tude and integrity. The Bible says to love our neighbor as ourselves. This is a twofold commandment. We must first learn to love and accept ourselves then treat our neighbor accordingly. Through the years, I have had to struggle to finally love and accept myself because I was raised in an environment where Christians misused Scriptures for their own comfort; which is understandable since we live in a society which punishes what it doesn’t understand. Some books which have helped me come to terms with my sexuality and my spirituality are as followed: Wrestling with The Angel by Brian Bouldrey ; Stranger at the Gate, by Mel White; The Good Book, by Peter J. Gomes; Sister Outsider, by Audre Lorde; Reclaiming the Spirit by David Shallenberger; and Openly Gay Openly Christian By Rev. Samuel Kader (which addresses the scriptures which a lot of Christian churches use to condemn gays and lesbians).
